See a New Roof on Your Own House

Load a photograph of your house, drag four corners onto your roof, and only the roof changes. It runs entirely in your browser and the photograph never leaves your device.

Sample boards lie. A color that looks right on a six inch square in a parking lot can look completely wrong across forty squares of your own roof, in your own light, next to your own siding. This puts it on the actual house.

Shingle line

Color

Colors, honestly. Colors here are approximated from the Owens Corning range and mixed to read correctly on a screen. They are not official color matches and this company is not claiming any certification or partnership. Before you commit, ask us for a real sample board and look at it outdoors, against your siding, at the time of day you usually come home.

How to Use It

  1. Choose a photo of your house, taken from the street in daylight.
  2. Drag the four orange corners onto one face of your roof.
  3. Pick a shingle line and a color. The roof changes, nothing else does.
  4. Add another plane for each slope you can see in the picture.
  5. Set the course size until the shingle rows look life sized.
  6. Save the picture and take it inside to argue about over dinner.

Why It Looks Right Rather Than Pasted On

A roof plane is a rectangle seen at an angle, so the four corners you drag describe that angle. The shingle courses are then mapped into that shape, which is why they run parallel to your eave and close up toward the ridge the way real courses do.

Then the light in your photograph is kept. Every pixel of new roof is multiplied by the brightness that was already there, so the shade of your maple tree, the bright line along the ridge and the darker north slope all survive. That is the difference between a new roof and a colored shape lying on top of a photo.

Where Your Photograph Goes

Nowhere. There is no upload, no account, no email box to fill in and nothing stored. The picture is opened by your own browser, drawn on a canvas in this page, and it is gone when you close the tab. The Save button writes a file to your device and nothing else.

Ask for a Real Sample Board

A screen is close. A sample board outdoors against your siding is the real answer, and we will bring one.
